Les paroles de la chanson “Feker Libi” seront interprétées en amharique, arabe, anglais et hébreu, par Eden Alene, le candidat israélien à l’Eurovision 2020.

Pour la première fois, une Israélienne d’origine éthiopienne représentera Israël au Concours Eurovision de la chanson.
Eden Alene, 19, est devenue le choix pour le concours de mai qui se tiendra aux Pays-Bas après avoir remporté le concours de réalité de la chaîne 12 “HaKochav HaBa” ou “La prochaine Étoile”, mardi soir.
Elle était le choix du jury et des téléspectateurs israéliens qui ont envoyé leurs votes.
« C’est un honneur incroyable de représenter mon pays, a-t-elle dit après l’annonce de sa victoire. C’est incroyable qu’un Éthiopien le fasse pour la première fois ».
Le Premier ministre Benjamin Netanyahu l’a félicitée sur Twitter, en écrivant : « Eden, tu es une championne ! Nous te faisons confiance pour rapporter l’Eurovision à la maison. Bonne chance ! ».
Eden est née et a grandi à Jérusalem. Ses parents ont divorcé quand elle avait quatre ans, et elle n’a eu aucun contact avec son père depuis. Elle a étudié la danse classique pendant dix ans avant de quitter une école religieuse pour aller vers un établissement laïc afin de suivre des cours de théâtre et de chant.
La chanteuse israélienne Netta Barzilai a remporté l’Eurovision en 2018, ce qui a fait d’Israël le pays hôte du concours l’année suivante.

This will be such a great experience. Many Jewish Ethiopians were rescued from Ethiopia and brought to Israel. Eden is a SABRA (a child born in Israel, meaning a prickly-pear, rough on the outside and soft and kind on the inside) proud and feeling home and reunited with the Jewish Nation, Eden will perform to represent her homeland Israel. To my opinion, the beauty of the diversity of languages in this song also illustrates the past and present of the peregrinations of the Ethiopian Jewish Community and of her family and translates the will to reach others as a messenger of Peace and Love Good luck Eden! I hope you will win. Am Israel Hay!
